Dan Korte is a 46-year-old father of four and is a Vice President at Clark Construction Co. in Lansing, MI.  Dan and his wife Amy live in Grand Ledge, MI and are involved in several of their kids' activities such as track, cross-country, soccer, Cub Scouts, and Scouts BSA.  Dan grew up playing several sports but starting playing hockey at the age of 5, played travel hockey as a kid and club hockey at Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI, and still plays recreationally today.  Dan started running in college and ran his first half marathon in Lincoln, NE (with one of his five siblings) in 2001.  Since then, he has run 10 marathons (in 4 states) and over 40 half marathons (his favorite running distance) and enjoys having paced several family members and friends to their race goals and/or PR's.  Over the years, he has enjoyed cycling with the local TCBA group and has done several century rides.  Dan found a passion for triathlon over 20yrs ago and did his first sprint triathlon (the "Splash, Pedal, and Dash" tri in Schaumburg, IL) in 2002.  Since then, he has done over 20 triathlons, half of which were the Olympic distance, has completed two half ironman distances (MI Titanium & IM 70.3 Ohio) and completed his first full Ironman 140.6 triathlon in Madison, WI in 2023.

2024 GOALS

After starting off the year recovering from an injury, my goal is to get back to healthy racing and continue to find a good balance of training, racing, family, and fun!  Since I am new to the LTT, my goal is to be actively engaged in training, volunteering, racing, and supporting alongside my teammates.  Though I enjoy the long-course tri events, I am looking to make a return to the sprint tri distance at the Greenville Tri this year, racing in the Grand Rapids Tri (my hometown) and I will be seeking a new personal best at Ironman 70.3 MI in Frankfurt, MI in September.
