Dan Zolkowski

Team Member Since 2017

Dan Zolkowski is 60 years old and the Assistant General Counsel for AF Group.  He has been an attorney for 34 years.  Dan & his wife Cindy have been married for 38 years & have resided in Lansing for the better part of 37 years. They have 3 grown children together.  As a youth, Dan participated in multiple sports, eventually focusing on soccer and tennis.  Tennis led him to play in college and tournaments until law school. Dan began triathlon in 1985, following an older brother and sister-in-law into the sport.  His oldest brother was co-publisher of Triathlon Today, based out of Ann Arbor.  Dan has participated in numerous triathlons, including Sylvania, Hubbard Lake, Mark Mellon, Great Lakes Triathlon, Capital City, Lansing Triathlon, Steelhead, Jordan Lake, and Playmakers. In 1990, he gave up triathlon temporarily to focus on his law practice and children.  Dan returned to racing in 2012 but while running the Dexter/Ann Arbor half marathon, he noticed back and hip pain.  The next day he learned that he needed a hip replacement. Notwithstanding this, he still participated at Steelhead in August 2012.  Dan has been active in youth sports as a coach and board member. Currently, he sits as a board member for Cap City Athletic and the Friends of the Lansing Area regional Trails.

2017 Goals

After taking some time to recover from hip replacement surgery in February 2016, I am back to racing and running and am looking forward to my first triathlon in 5 years.
